The all-in-one application that has simplified the lives of millions across the MENAP region, has formed a strategic partnership with Foodics to enhance its food delivery platform. This collaboration has enabled thousands of partners to leverage the Foodics platform to deliver orders seamlessly through Careem.

Careem-Foodics integration allows food stores to sync menus and accept orders from Careem app to Foodics cashier app, streamlining the delivery process.

Important Notes:

  • Please be advised that the following features are not currently supported by the integration between Careem and Foodics:
    1. Combos
    2. Price tags
    3. Free or default modifier options.
  • Careem does not support rounding in Foodics (To prevent any order mismatches, businesses must deactivate the rounding feature from the Foodics console).

Business Configurations In Foodics

Before enabling the integration, you need to do some configuration in your Foodics account as explained below:

  • Create a delivery charge in Foodics with the below details

    • Name: Delivery Charge
    • Type: Amount
    • Is Open Value: Yes
  • Create a service charge in Foodics with the below details

    • Name: Service Charge
    • Type: Amount
    • Is Open Value: Yes
  • To enable the integration between Careem and Foodics, it is necessary to create a dedicated menu group for Careem, and add all relevant menu items to this group.

    • Name: careem

    To do so, please navigate to the Foodics console dashboard ---> Create a new menu group specifically for the Careem integration with the exact name "Careem" and add all relevant menu items that you wish to display on the Careem platform to this menu group.

  • Make sure that the currency used in both the Foodics and Careem accounts are consistent with one another. This will help to avoid any potential issues or discrepancies that may arise during transactions or other partnership activities.

Enabling the Integration

Note: In order to enable this integration, it is necessary to have a Careem account. If you do not currently have an account, we recommend reaching out to Careem to initiate the registration process. Once you have a Careem account established, you can proceed with enabling the integration by following the below steps:

  1. Log in to your Foodics console at console.foodics.com/login using the owner email, If you logged in with a non-owner user, you will not be able to activate the integration.

  2. Navigate to the Marketplace page ---> Search for Careem under the Food Aggregator category ---> Click Install.

  3. You will be navigated to Careem merchant panel to enter your Careem business credentials to sign in.

  4. After logging in, Navigate to the Outlets section and ---> click on listed outlet to select the desired listed outlet.

  5. Proceed to the Brand section and click on Generate Foodics Access Code.

  6. You will be directed to an authorization page. to proceed with the authorization process, simply click on the Authorize Careem To Access My Account button. By doing so, you grant Careem the necessary permissions to access your Foodics account and enable the integration between the two platforms.

  7. The integration has been enabled successfully.

Branches Mapping

Following the successful completion of the authorization process, it is necessary to contact Careem in order to map your Foodics branches to the Careem platform. This step is crucial to ensuring the seamless integration of the two systems.

Menu Sync

  • Upon completing the branch mapping process with Careem, the initial synchronization of your menu should be conducted by the Careem team. This is necessary to ensure that the integration is functioning properly, and that all necessary menu items are correctly reflected on the Careem platform.

  • Once the initial synchronization is complete, all future menu updates will be automatically reflected in Careem. Any changes made to menu entities assigned to your mapped group in Foodics will be automatically synced with Careem, ensuring that the menu information is consistently up-to-date across both platforms.

  • To view the menu on the Careem merchant portal, please follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to the Outlets section on the Careem merchant portal.
    2. Select the corresponding outlet for which you wish to view the menu.
    3. In the top right corner of the page, click on Catalog.

How to receive Careem orders in Foodics Cashier

Careem orders will be received as explained in the Accept Online Orders Article.

FAQs

Q1: Careem is sending orders to my restaurant but I’m not receiving them in the Foodics cashier application

A: Please check the below points

1- Sign in to your Foodics account at console.foodics.com/login, then go to the Orders Page. This page will show you all API orders that are in Pending status

2- Are there any pending orders from Careem?

If Yes:

Make sure you have implemented all the needed steps to receive online orders as explained in the Accept Online Orders Article.

In the cashier app, click HOME --> Sync Data

Ask Careem to send new orders to test, orders should be received by the cashier

If No:

There is an issue at Careem's side in sending orders to your Foodics account. Please communicate with Careem and inform them that there are no orders created from Careem in your Foodics account.
